Staying at the Spirit Lodge residential treatment center may include participating in the Living in Balance portion of our holistic addiction treatment programs. As you progress in this treatment process, you will begin to learn about the different aspects of addiction and the toll it has played on you in many ways in your life.

One of the effects of an addiction to drugs and alcohol can be the spiritual effect that you will learn more about as you determine whether you want to progress in your treatment for addiction with or without a spiritual focus.

Topics that will be discussed include what being self-centered is and in what ways a drug addict or alcohol may experience self-centeredness. It is common for individuals with the disease of addiction to believe that they can decide to quit using drugs or drinking alcohol without the help of others.

The Process of Addiction Recovery

The process of addiction may include an increase in self-centeredness and in much the same was as this can be a deceptively gradual process, so the recovery from an addiction is also a process that takes time.

Continuing to work toward achieving recovery from an addiction will mean learning more about the meaning of self-centeredness and effective methods for managing and correcting these issues in your life, as well as how self-centeredness may be tied to the spiritual effect of a drug or alcohol addiction.
