Prioritizing in Addiction Recovery
You will be guided through a series of educational sessions as you attend the Living in Balance portion of Spirit Lodge’s treatment programs for addiction. This session will include discussions and exercises regarding stress management skills in addiction recovery.
One of the things you will be helped to learn about will be the process of prioritizing and recognizing what your priorities should be in order to continuously increase the strength of your sobriety over time.
As discussed in the time management portion of this addiction treatment session, you will have already spent a few moments reflecting on the actual time you used both seeking drugs and alcohol and actually using those drugs and abusing alcohol. The use of your time in this manner showed that active substance abuse was your priority at that time.
Addiction Treatment: Activities that Support Sobriety
Now, however, you have a new priority. This, the reason you are in addiction treatment, learning how to live a sober life on a long-term basis successfully. For this reason, you will be encouraged to connect your sobriety to all other aspects of your life and to all of your behaviors in determining what is and is not good for you to do each day.
You will be helped to recognize what types of activities are essential each day and each week in order for you to maintain your progress in sobriety and in learning this, you will be better able to define your priorities on a daily basis and long-term.
Exercises in the Living in Balance portion of your Spirit Lodge addiction treatment program will assist you in learning how to recognize your various goals, how these all connect and how to figure out how the related; supporting activities to these goals should be arranged.
Overcoming Obstacles in Sobriety
Recognizing what could hinder you from reaching your objectives and ways that you could potentially overcome those hindrances will also be items you will be able to discuss and consider in addiction treatment.
You will find that Spirit Lodge treats each of our guests as unique individuals with specific needs.
