Positive Changes for Drug Addicts and Alcoholics

Most people who enter a drug or alcohol recovery program are interested in making positive changes in their life.  Assistance with this recovery effort is provided during the Living in Balance portion of the holistic drug addiction and alcohol addiction treatment available at Spirit Lodge.  Call (888) 293-2202 to discuss the options available to you for treatment for an addiction.

As you progress in your addiction treatment program, you will learn more details about the ways that quitting drug abuse and alcohol abuse can affect you over time.  An increased awareness begins to develop in the drug addict and alcoholic regarding their life choices and behaviors now and those behaviors and choices that they previously made as well.

Once this increased awareness develops, the recognition for the need to begin taking steps toward positive change in life also develops and becomes essential for the emotional well-being of the individual suffering from the disease of addiction.

The Importance of Seeking Help for an Addiction

You will learn more about the ways that isolation can decrease the ability of an individual to make the changes that are required for benefiting their life in recovery.  The willingness to both reach out for help and accept the help of others in conquering a drug dependence or alcohol dependence can prevent addiction recovery from being slowed by self-reliant behaviors that have continued to fail to achieve the desired result.

One thing that you will learn about in this particular session of your addiction treatment program will be the topic of spirituality and how it includes looking beyond the realm of your own mind and capabilities to seek assistance from an external source.

These external sources of assistance for the drug addict or alcoholic may include another individual, or the source of help may be a 12 step program such as Alcoholics Anonymous.  There are also a number of self-help groups that people may choose to seek aid in overcoming a drug or alcohol dependence from, or some turn to their personal religion and God, or Higher Power for assistance.  The Higher Power may be considered to be a more personal description of God to some who are working toward achieving sobriety.

Among the many aspects of successful recovery from addiction that you will learn about during the Living in Balance portion of your addiction treatment at Spirit Lodge is the importance of seeking help for achieving sobriety, rather than trying to just do it all on your own.

Professionals at Spirit Lodge treat you as a unique individual and much more than just an addiction.  That’s why our supportive, experienced counselors, who regularly help guests from Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, New York and Florida, will work closely with you to assist you in ending your alcohol dependence or drug dependence.
