External Addiction Triggers
At Spirit Lodge, we employ a team of caring professional therapists, MDs, PhDs, LCDCs, Educators and Nutritionists who work closely with each of our guests to assist in the process of successful addiction recovery through our holistic addiction treatment programs.
While you are encouraged to participate in the Living in Balance portion of your addiction treatment, you will have the opportunity to learn about the various types of addiction triggers that you will have to overcome in order to maintain long-term sobriety.
After discussing internal triggers, external triggers will then be explained as the locations, other people and items that you have associated with or that have had a connection to your previous alcoholic behaviors or drug abuse.
Substance Abuse Addiction: Various Life Experience Connections
For different people, the external triggers they experience will vary depending on their previous lifestyle in connection with their substance abuse addiction. You will have a chance to reflect on the places you may have used various substances, the people you associated with while using drugs or drinking and the various occasions in your life that may have been connected to your active substance abuse addiction.
At Spirit Lodge we know you are more than just an addiction. That’s why our supportive, experienced counselors, who regularly help guests from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, California, New York and Florida, will work closely with you to assist you in ending your drug dependence or alcohol dependence.
