Addiction Treatment: Stress Levels
By this point in your process of addiction treatment during the Living in Balance portion of the programs available to you at Spirit Lodge, you will have learned a few details about the difference between stressors and stresses and will have discussed examples of what these could be.
You will now learn that the actual effect of stressors on each individual can vary, not dependent upon the actual stress trigger itself. However, various types of stressors may be more intensive and long-lasting than others. Some may be much more personal than others, but regardless of these details, each person’s perception of how threatening each stressor actually is changes the effect and level of stress each person experiences.
Your personally perceived ability to handle any issue that arises is also a significant factor in how deeply a problem may affect you and tying in to that, how alone you feel in dealing with your stresses makes a difference as well.
