Experienced, caring counselors will help you with this exercise and assist you in thinking about the fact that your life is meaningful and has importance. When people do not feel like there is any meaning to their life, it can be difficult for them to ascertain that their life is actually even worth continuing.For some who have developed an alcohol dependence or drug dependence, their primary purpose in life has become to achieve the feelings that substance abuse commonly provided them. Reliance on this sort of purpose in life can be shallow and ineffective for developing a reason to feel that it is worth it to continue living.
