Medical Detox for Drug & Alcohol Dependency
Spirit Lodge Drug and Alcohol Rehab Offers Medical Detox
Recovery from drug or alcohol addiction is a complex and challenging process. Yet, many individuals struggling with addiction fear the traumatic withdrawal process. Through the use of such state-of-the-art medications such as Suboxone, our medical staff can help curb the discomfort of initial withdrawal from drugs and alcohol, as well as decrease ongoing cravings. During the initial assessment period, the physician will determine the length of the person's detoxification. Detox typically takes from 3 to 7 days, but will be conducted as long or as short as medically indicated, ensuring each guest's safety and comfort. Spirit Lodge employs therapeutic groups, cognitive behavioral therapy and the 12-Step program to help clients in their recovery.
A word of caution about withdrawal:
It's important that our patients and their families understand that, if not treated medically, withdrawing from some drugs, such as alcohol and benzodiazepines (Ativan, Valium, Xanax) or prescription narcotics such as OxyContin® and Lortab, can cause very serious medical complications, which may include seizure, stroke, and in some cases, even death. If you, or your family member, have been drinking heavily or abusing drugs for a significant period of time, we urge that you not try to quit or detox abruptly on your own.
